ah.

It’s raining it’s pouring...the evidence of climate change. Apparently it’s not supposed to rain in the winter here, well it’s been raining for the last day and night, non-stop. Wish I had brought some rain boots. My counterpart has not come in again. I don’t blame her there’s nothing to do here. Since I haven’t met with the coordinator I can’t even fill out my workplan, seeing as I don’t know what to do... even if I did I don’t know HOW to do it. I think I am over my head here.

Another important lesson learned #5 : Trust your gut!

I thought I would not be able to post or write a diary, but I was wrong. I have way too much time on my hands. I mean I know everyone says to take your time, things will change.. but even the locals here complain about just sitting around the office. Where are all the leaders? Why does no one know anything? Is there no transfer of knowledge from the coordinator down? This feels like a really long detention, where I have to sit in the corner and stare at a blank wall. I don’t know if I can be in a culture that doesn’t talk....! I find it hard enough in Canada... maybe i should have gone to South America...

These are the cats that follow me, apparently they do have names but I call the gray Georgia and the orange Cassie.
